Good to know

Common questions

Is the call really free?

Yes. It's a 15-minute conversation where we listen to your concerns, identify your goals, and explain how we can help. If a package makes sense we'll tell you what it costs, and there's no obligation either way.

Do you work with families outside St. Louis and Boston?

Absolutely. Nearly all of our coaching happens virtually, so it doesn't matter whether you're down the road or across the world. We have coaches in Central and Eastern time and work successfully in any time zone. In-home consultations are available in Massachusetts and Rhode Island on request.

How long does it take?

Our sleep plans include two weeks of coaching, and most families are where they want to be in two weeks or less. Premium plans also include a 45-minute strategy call to use within a year, for any bumps down the road.

Do you use cry it out?

We don't use one sleep training method for every child, and “cry it out” is never our automatic approach. We'll talk with you about your child's age, temperament, current sleep habits, your parenting style, and how comfortable you are with different levels of support before recommending a plan.

We also want to be realistic: we are not a tear-free sleep solution. Change can be hard for babies and toddlers, and crying or protest is often part of learning a new way to fall asleep—especially when a child has relied on a parent, feeding, rocking, or another form of help to get to sleep.

We understand that crying is hard to hear, and we take it seriously. Our job is to help you understand what your child is communicating, distinguish protest from a need for additional support, and respond in a way that is consistent with the approach you've chosen. Depending on your child and your comfort level, that might include checking in frequently, staying in the room, offering hands-on reassurance, or giving your child more space to work through the change.

We'll explain what to expect before you begin, including where we anticipate your child may struggle, so you can decide whether the plan feels right for your family. And once you start, we'll be right alongside you, helping you navigate the hard moments and make thoughtful adjustments when needed.

Our goal isn't to ignore crying. It's to help your child move from needing significant help to fall asleep toward feeling safe, confident, and capable of sleeping independently.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. We accept HSA/FSA funds and offer family-friendly payment plans. Coverage varies, so inquire with your specific insurance plan to see what applies to you. FSA reimbursement usually means paying up front and claiming it back.

Can I book a Tune-Up Call instead of a full sleep package?

Absolutely. Our $125 Tune-Up Calls are designed for families who don't necessarily need a full sleep plan or two weeks of support, but could use expert guidance to work through a specific sleep or bedtime challenge. You do not need to be a past client to book one.

These calls are especially popular with parents of toddlers and preschoolers. Around ages 2–4, sleep challenges often become less about finding the “right” sleep training method and more about navigating development, independence, boundaries, and behavior.

We can help with things like transitioning from a crib to a bed, bedtime stalling and repeated requests, a child who suddenly needs a parent in the room to fall asleep, early waking, nap transitions, regressions, bedtime anxiety, or routines that have simply stopped working.

And because we're trained Parent Coaches as well as Sleep Consultants, we don't just look at the problem and apply a sleep-training method. We look at what's happening through a behavioral and developmental lens: What is your child communicating through their behavior? What may be reinforcing the pattern? Where could expectations or boundaries be clearer? And how can we help your child cooperate with the change rather than turning bedtime into a nightly power struggle?

Our goal is to give you practical strategies that help you empower your child, encourage cooperation, hold loving and predictable boundaries, and feel more confident in how you're responding—while still keeping healthy sleep at the center.

Lindsay's Tune-Up Call is up to 60 minutes and includes detailed written notes afterward. Stellina's call is up to 45 minutes. If we determine that your family needs a customized sleep plan and ongoing support rather than a single call, we'll help you choose the service that's a better fit.
